Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the services provided by Long Island Junk Co., LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including junk removal, dumpster rental, estate cleanouts, and all related services. By booking a service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Area

Long Island Junk Co. provides junk removal and dumpster rental services within Nassau and Suffolk County, New York. We reserve the right to decline service requests outside our defined service area or where road or site conditions make service impractical or unsafe. If you are unsure whether your location qualifies, please call us before booking.

2. Service Description and Pricing

Junk removal is priced based on the volume of materials your items occupy in our truck, measured at the time of service. Prices start at $99 for a minimum load (approximately 1/8 truck capacity) and range to $599–$799 for a full truck load, depending on material type.

Dumpster rental is priced as a flat rate per container per rental period (standard 7 days). Pricing varies by container size and is quoted at time of booking. Additional fees apply for: (a) rental periods exceeding 7 days ($50/day), (b) loads containing prohibited materials (variable), and (c) containers left on public roadways requiring permit fees paid by the Company on your behalf (pass-through cost).

All prices are provided as quotes prior to work commencement. Quotes are non-binding estimates based on information provided by the customer. Final pricing is based on actual volume and material type observed by our crew at time of service. Any difference from the original quote will be communicated before additional work proceeds.

3. Payment Terms

Payment is due in full at the time of service completion. We accept cash, check (personal or business), Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. For jobs exceeding $1,000, we may require a deposit at time of booking to secure your appointment date. Deposits are credited toward your final invoice.

Returned checks will be subject to a $35 returned check fee in addition to any bank fees incurred. Accounts outstanding more than 30 days may be subject to a 1.5% monthly finance charge and may be referred to collections.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Junk removal appointments: Cancellations made at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment window will be accepted without charge. Cancellations made within 2 hours of the appointment window, or where no one is available at the service address during the appointment window, may result in a $50 trip charge.

Dumpster delivery: Delivery cancellations made at least 24 hours before scheduled delivery will be accepted without charge. Cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled delivery may be subject to a $75 same-day cancellation fee. Pickup reschedules require at least 24 hours notice; unscheduled extended rental days are billed at $50/day.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to weather, equipment issues, crew emergencies, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will contact you as promptly as possible and reschedule at no additional cost.

5. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information about the volume and type of items to be removed when requesting a quote
• Ensure a responsible adult (18+) is present at the service address during the scheduled appointment window for all interior services
• Ensure safe access to the service area, including clearing pathways, removing vehicles from driveways as needed, and obtaining necessary permissions for service on properties you do not own
• Not include prohibited items (see Section 7) in loads or dumpsters without prior written approval
• Ensure the dumpster placement location can structurally support the weight of the container (typically 3,500–8,000 lbs depending on size)

6. Damage Liability

Our liability:Long Island Junk Co. carries $1M general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage. We will repair or compensate for any damage to your property caused by our crew’s negligence, up to our policy limits. Claims must be reported in writing within 48 hours of service completion.

Driveway and surface damage: Roll-off dumpsters are heavy equipment. We use rubber outrigger pads and, when requested, wooden boards to minimize surface impact. However, placing a container on a driveway, lawn, or surface carries inherent risk of marks, cracking, or indentation, particularly on older asphalt in warm weather. We are not liable for pre-existing surface conditions or for minor surface impressions within normal expected tolerances.

Items of value: We do not assume responsibility for items mistakenly included in a haul-away load. Please review all items before our crew loads them. Once the truck has left the premises, items cannot be retrieved.

Structural damage: We are not responsible for damage to doorways, hallways, staircases, or flooring that occurs due to the inherent difficulty of removing oversized items from a residential structure, unless caused by clear negligence by our crew.

7. Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited from all Long Island Junk Co. trucks and dumpsters. Inclusion of prohibited items may result in additional fees, refusal of service, or cancellation of the rental without refund:

• Hazardous waste of any kind, including paints, solvents, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and pool chemicals
• Motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, and other automotive fluids
• Gasoline, diesel, propane, and other flammable liquids or compressed gas cylinders
• Car batteries and lead-acid batteries of any type
• Asbestos-containing materials in any form
• Medical waste, biohazardous waste, sharps, or pharmaceuticals
• Animal waste or carcasses
• Radioactive materials
• Tires (may be accepted for an additional surcharge — ask at booking)
• Wet concrete, dirt, soil, or rock (dumpsters only — may be accepted in limited quantities for junk removal)

If prohibited materials are discovered after loading, the customer is responsible for the cost of proper disposal by licensed hazardous waste contractors.

8. Scheduling and Time Commitments

We schedule junk removal appointments in 2-hour arrival windows. We make every effort to arrive within the stated window and will contact you if we are running significantly late. We do not guarantee same-day service, though same-day slots are frequently available for morning calls.

For dumpster rentals, we schedule deliveries by time of day (morning or afternoon) and will call approximately 30 minutes before arrival. Standard rental periods begin from the time of delivery and end at scheduled pickup. The customer is responsible for the container from delivery until pickup.

9. Dumpster Placement and Permits

For dumpsters placed on public roads, easements, or other non-private property, the customer is responsible for obtaining any required municipal permits prior to delivery. We can advise on permit requirements for most Nassau and Suffolk County locations but are not responsible for violations resulting from unpermitted roadside placement. When we obtain permits on your behalf, associated fees are passed through to you at cost.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Long Island Junk Co.’s total liability for any claim arising from our services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of Suffolk County, New York. You consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted at longislandjunkco.com/terms/. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
